Canadian-grown hot peppers, crafted into Canadian hot sauces. A star on Hot Ones® (complete with celebrity shout-outs), this proud family business is truly on fire. The growing brand took inspiration from the fabric of Canada’s diverse cultures to form unique flavours that invite you to explore and push your own culinary boundaries. This foundational brand message and the story of each product needed to be told in a bright, vibrant way, to capture the attention so worthy of what’s in the bottle. Let us take you on a spicy adventure!
With clearly defined values, we extended the brand’s presence through key Canadiana icons. The logo retains its existing fonts, but is updated to feel more like a hockey puck (or a record, depending on your taste). Adding a his and hers set of fire-breathing Canadian Geese to represent the brand owners Ana and Drew quickly became fan faves. Light-hearted copy rounds out the brand, adding a personality meant to feel familiar and approachable.
The design set out to answer the top consumer inquiries: “What is This?”, “How Hot Is This?”, and “What Does It Taste Like?”. The hierarchy focuses on communicating these three core points, with added humour when it comes to the “How Hot?”. A visual heat scale and “out of 10” point scale are paired with inspirational messaging; all the way from “You’ll Be OK” to “Playin’ with Fire”. Key flavour stamps on the back provide a sense of origin for the sauce, adding to the overall understanding of the product.
